The various logistical problems faced by the workers, negotiations of the products being delivered onsite. Risk assessment is another important concept in the SCM. Proper communication between the various parties involved both offsite and on site, the contractors and subcontractors who does not share a common and similar work ethic. Thus a collaborative team work is required for the success of a project and minimizes the risk associated with it. Though project management is dealt with much importance in any project risk assessment is often neglected. TOPSIS provides a good method of identification and assessment of risk and is more appropriate than other models like MCDM.
The risk factor involved in a project includes three parts-risk identification, assessment and mitigation. The method that has been inducted is an effective way to deduce the risk assessment model with proper accuracy. To solve the TOPSIS of risk assessment model under a fuzzy condition where there are a number of decision makers to deduce the minimum risk model and work upon that model which would guarantee that minimum risk is involved. Another model is the matrix method of risk assessment. That basic difference of the risk assessment model and the proposed method is the method of choosing a fuzzy TOPSIS over normal TOPSIS which deals in precise number. The fuzzy TOPSIS way of risk assessment is more flexible and accurate. But in spite of all these there is no optimum and full proof model that can be followed and the risk involved in each model varies. The SCM in UAE is different from that of other countries and the risk involved is drastic and no well formulated model is followed there. UAE being the largest construction site in the world with over 16,000 contractors and 34000 employees involved it is the largest business sector of UAE. SCM in UAE is not only limited to a single project but with the collaboration of different multinational enterprises and contractors failure in the implementation of a smooth SCM affects the total industry as each of them are interlinked. Improvement on site conditions and skilled management will help the supply chain. In UAE the current trend is the partnership between a foreign company and local contractors. As a result conflicting interest and difference in work ethics is prominent. So working towards a common goal with well defined guidelines will help in the improvement of SCM.
In the hierarchical framework there are certain barriers to implement the Green Supply Chain      Management(GSCM) in the construction sites of UAE. These includes on one hand the failure of proper policy making by the government on the other hand lack of skilled professionals and lack of public awareness are also some of the reasons. The general public should be given the opportunity to choose from a range of sustainable options and for that the government has to take the initiative in encouraging them. GSCM policies are very much important as it reduces the carbon emission and helps in building the social responsibility image of the company following these guidelines .But in UAE the lack of proper governance has so far limited the implementation the green initiatives among different enterprises and stake holders of that enterprises. There are further scopes for the improvement of SCM process by ensuring a smooth flow of labour between the suppliers and contractors which would eventually decrease the onsite duration of the project and thus reduce the total cost of the project. But on based on the literary survey it can be concluded further improvement in SCM is required as many aspects of SCM are still unknown and unexplored. While the construction industry of the United Arab Emirates display to the world supreme infrastructural projects that are unprecedented and picturesque, the inability to implement an effective system of SCM has in a number of ways hindered the projects which would with the existence of a streamlined method of supply chain been facilitated notably.

Case 1: The four roles of SCM in construction

So the risk management of the uncertainty faced by them are completely different and indigenous to that institution itself.

Other than this a temporary supply chain of a specified make order chain can also be formulated on specific and rare occasions. Depending on the stated characteristics few features of SCM in UAE can be deduced depending upon the priority given to the supply chain or on site construction. Firstly the management should be well aware of the supply chain a smooth flow of labour and on site activities should take place. Secondly there should be a well coordinated relationship between the suppliers and constructors which would directly affect in reducing the cost and time. The business objective all the all the ongoing construction projects in UAE are not the same and so the supply chain has been difficult to manage. The UAE construction business has about 16,000 contractors and 340,000 workers employed making it the single largest business sector in UAE. The current trend in the construction business in UAE is partnership between a foreign and a local construction company. Though both the parties agree on the importance of SCM in the success of their particular research project the way they perceive the role of SCM is different and so because of this conflicting interest of both the parties the role of SCM in UAE is unlike from the other developed countries.
This case study highlights the salient points that have been discussed in the literature review section of the research like the State of SCM practices in UAE together with a particular focus in the construction industry. Another important aspect is the smooth flow of material which is directly related to SCM is a deciding factor in a project's success.
But on a whole based on the literary survey it can be concluded that the documentation and extensive research that is required in SCM is still not enough and there is further scope of improvement because many of the sectors are still untouched and there are many unchartered territories to be explored.

  1. PENALTIES FOR LATE SUBMISSION
      Where coursework is submitted late, the following penalties shall be applied to the mark:
(a)  if the work is no more than four working days late, then five marks shall be deducted for each working day (08:30-16:00 Mon-Thursday or part thereof) , but  if  the work would otherwise pass then the  mark for the work shall be reduced to no lower than the pass mark for  the  component
(b)  if the work is no more than four working days late and marked and the mark is lower than the pass mark, then no penalty shall be applied;
(c)  if the work is more than  four  working  days late then it  cannot be submitted and  shall be recorded as a non-submission (NS).
  1. ACADEMIC MISCONDUCT
The University takes a serious view of all acts of academic misconduct. Such acts are considered dishonest and as attempts to gain unfair advantage. Acts of academic misconduct can take many forms. They are likely to fall into one or more of the following categories:

Plagiarism involves taking the work of another person or source and using it as if it were one’s own.

Collusion

Collusion also occurs where there is unauthorised co-operation between a student and another person in the preparation and production of work which is presented as the student’s own.

This could involve a range of things that make it appear that information has been collected    by scientific investigation, the compilation of questionnaire results etc whereas in reality it has been made up or altered to provide a more favourable result.

This involves any means whereby a person does work on behalf of another.  It includes assessments done for someone else in full or in part by a fellow student, a friend or family member.  It includes sitting an examination for someone else.  It also covers obtaining material from internet ‘cheat sites’ or other sources of work.  Penalties for this type of unfair means will normally apply both to a student of the University who does work on behalf of another and a student of the University who has work done for him/her.
Copying from, or communicating with, another examination candidate during an examination
  1. Bribery
This involves giving money, gifts or any other advantage to an academic member of staff which is intended to give an unfair advantage in an assessment exercise.
VII.       Particular care should be taken in respect of the following:
  1. a) Getting help from others / helping others
Students are encouraged to discuss and share ideas and information, however those who knowingly assist others to commit academic misconduct whether or not for payment (e.g. by giving another student the opportunity to copy part or all of a piece of work, by providing copies of assessments or by providing bespoke assignments to another student) will be subject to the same penalties as those who use unfair means. Students must ensure that they protect their own work, submit it themselves and do not allow other students to use their memory stick and/or print off work on their behalf.
  1. b) Use of Readers/Note Takers
Students with special learning requirements who require the services of readers or note takers are advised to use appropriately trained individuals. Further advice can be obtained from the Disability Service Team within Student Life Directorate.
  1. c) Referencing
Students using work which has been produced by other people within an assignment will need to ensure that they acknowledge or reference the source of the work. Students should check with their Schools for particular requirements. Marks may be deducted for poor referencing. If poor referencing is extensive throughout a piece of work it could appear that the student is trying to claim credit for the work and he/she may be deemed to have committed plagiarism. Guidance on good referencing practice is available from Schools or may be provided through research training programmes, the Study Skills Programme located in Student Life and on-line guidance provided by Information & Learning Services. Penalties
If satisfied that unfair means has occurred, a penalty will be imposed on the student. Penalties vary depending on whether the matter is referred to the School Academic Misconduct Panel or the University Disciplinary Committee and on the particular circumstances.  A range of penalties may be imposed including:
  • A penalty of 0% for the assessment component attempted using unfair means;
  • A penalty of 0% for the module affected by unfair means;
  • A penalty of 0% for the module affected by unfair means and the marks of all other modules at that academic level being capped at the pass mark (40% for undergraduates, 50% for post graduates).
In the most severe cases, where there are aggravating factors (e.g. that this is a repeated case of the use of unfair means by a student at an advanced stage in their studies), a student found guilty of using unfair means may be permanently expelled from the University.

In these uncertain times there is a risk that universities may discuss or disclose between themselves details of their future intentions in relation to certain issues that might affect the intensity of price or non-price competition How Competition Law Regulatesbetween them. The late Lord Dearing, whose influential report proposed the introduction of student tuition fees in the UK, gave a warning in 2003 that universities might be tempted into a form of price-fixing cartel. At that time he commented that "it would be natural" for vice-chancellors to seek to protect themselves but he also referred to his time in industry where, he claimed, there had been an 11th commandment: "Thou shalt not fix prices with thy competitors or engage in unfair trading practices."callus
Universities are subject to the full rigours of EU and UK competition law because they will likely be deemed to be "undertakings" when they supply goods or services on a given market.
There is clear precedent for this view. For example, in 2006, the Office of Fair Trading (OFT) held that 50 fee-paying independent schools (many with charitable status) had exchanged information relating to their intended fee increases and fee levels for boarding and day pupils. It found that the schools involved had disclosed details of their fee levels for the next academic year, which were then collated and circulated by one school to other participating schools.
The OFT considered that this exchange of confidential information had an anti-competitive object, distorted price competition and resulted in higher fees than would otherwise have been the case. The OFT found that each of the 50 schools had infringed the UK's competition rules. The OFT's investigation concluded with the schools accepting a nominal fine and agreeing to pay a total of £3 million into an educational trust fund.Cheap_servides
Since 2006, the OFT has imposed much tougher sanctions on companies that have breached the competition rules. For example, in July 2010 a number of producers and retailers of tobacco products were fined a total of £225 million for engaging in behaviour that had the object of restricting competition. Further, the Royal Bank of Scotland has agreed to pay a fine of £28.5 million because some of its staff had unilaterally disclosed generic and specific confidential future pricing information to their counterparts at Barclays Bank.
When considering the risks of information exchanges between competitors, it is important to bear in mind that a one-off disclosure can be sufficient to amount to a breach of the competition rules. The EU Court of Justice confirmed in 2009 that the disclosure of commercially sensitive data between competitors at a single meeting was anti-competitive, even though there was no direct link with the final prices charged by the companies, because the exchange was capable of removing uncertainty about the intended conduct of the parties involved.
Competition law is not confined to banning overt price-fixing agreements reached between competitors in a smoke-filled room. Universities must take steps to ensure that they do not discuss with or disclose to each other any data or documents that might be regarded as commercially sensitive, if to do so might lead to greater transparency about each other's future commercial intentions and conduct.
In this context, care needs to be taken to consider whether joint action on benchmarking or identifying best practice can lead to potential competition law infringements, in the same way that an agreement or understanding between universities to charge a particular level of tuition fee would be regarded as anti-competitive.
The risks for individuals engaged in anti-competitive behaviour are not trivial either, because the OFT has indicated an intention to prevent individuals who knew or should have known that they were breaching the competition rules from being involved in the management of companies.
